FAQ

What You Are Wondering

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What areas of law does your firm practise in?

Our firm provides legal advice and litigation services to individual and corporate clients in commercial, criminal, labor, enforcement and bankruptcy, real estate, urban transformation, education and immigration law.

  • I received a payment order. What should I do?

In general enforcement proceedings, you can object to a payment order within 7 days of service; in proceedings based on cheques or promissory notes, this period is 5 days. If the deadline is missed, the proceedings become final and attachment can follow. We recommend consulting a lawyer without delay once you receive a payment order.

  • What support do you provide in labor law cases?

We provide advice and representation in disputes between employees and employers concerning severance and notice pay, employee receivables and reinstatement. For these claims, applying to a mediator before filing a lawsuit is mandatory; we also represent our clients during mediation.

  • Is it mandatory to hire a lawyer in a criminal case?

As a rule, it is not mandatory. However, if the suspect or defendant is under 18, unable to defend themselves, or the offence carries a minimum prison sentence of more than five years, a defence lawyer is appointed without request. Working with a lawyer from the first stage of the investigation helps prevent loss of rights.

  • What should I consider in commercial contracts?

In commercial contracts, ensure terms are clear, obligations of parties, timelines, and penalties are well-defined. Our firm assists in drafting and reviewing contracts.

  • What is the legal process for purchasing real estate?

Before purchasing, the title deed record, any attachments, mortgages or annotations on the property, and its zoning status should be checked. Properly executing the sale agreement and title transfer prevents future disputes. Our firm provides review and advisory support in this process.

  • What should I do in a lease dispute?

First, the lease terms and correspondence between the parties are reviewed. For most disputes arising from a lease, applying to a mediator before filing a lawsuit is mandatory. Our firm provides support both in mediation and in litigation.

  • What should I consider before signing an urban transformation contract?

The sharing ratio, delivery date and delay penalty, rent assistance, construction specifications and the contractor's guarantees should be clearly set out in the contract. A legal review before signing largely prevents disputes that may arise later.

  • What is the deadline for challenging a deportation decision?

A lawsuit against a deportation decision can be filed with the administrative court within 7 days of service. Filing within this period suspends enforcement of the decision, with certain exceptions. It is therefore important to seek legal advice immediately once the decision is served on you.

  • Do you provide legal support for company formation?

Yes, we provide support for all legal processes related to company formation, from contract preparation to registration.

  • How can I contact a lawyer?

You can contact our firm via phone, email, or the contact form on our website. You can also schedule an in-person meeting.

  • What are your legal fees?

Legal fees are determined according to the type, scope and duration of the work, and may not be lower than the Minimum Attorney Fee Tariff published annually by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. Fees and payment terms are communicated to you in writing after your matter is assessed at the first meeting.

  • What is mediation in legal processes?

Mediation is a method where parties attempt to resolve disputes outside of court with the help of a mediator. Our firm guides you through mediation processes.
